Zoological - Botanical Park Review

Fun facts
  • As you walk through the zoo, you'll read about the animal's habitat, their diet and if they are endangered.
  • Cockatoos get excited over musical sounds and high-pitched noises. You might even see them dance to cell phone ring tones. They also love rain and squeal with excitement when a storm hits.
  • Macaws, the largest bird in the parrot family, can live past 50 years old. These birds form lifelong monogamous relationships for breeding, sharing food and grooming.
  • A chimpanzee is as strong as nine men.
  • Not only are ostriches the tallest birds, they also have the largest eye of any land animal.
  • Mountain lions can lunge up to 30 feet forward and up to 18 feet high onto their victim's back, killing by a single bite.
  • Flamingos are very shy birds.
With Vegas' dry climate and hot temperatures, all we're really missing in this town is a safari experience. A visit to the Las Vegas Zoological - Botanical Park comes close.
The three-acre property appears small from the entrance, but believe us when we say you're in for a treat. Not only will you see a variety of animals from around the world, you'll be transferred from the desert to a savanna-like atmosphere in just seconds.
Once you enter the gate, the adventure begins with a petting zoo exhibit. Kids especially love this, as the goats are friendly and approachable. They get even friendlier when you purchase nibbles from the dispensers and hand feed them. One handful is only a quarter, but we bet you're going to want to keep feeding them!
To the right of the petting zoo, come face-to-face with ostriches. These birds are more than nine feet tall and make basketball player Shaquille O'Neal look petite.  See how tall (or short) you measure next to them. Just behind the ostriches are an array of colorful parrots and the endangered cockatoos. You might even hear one of the macaws say "Hello!" to you.
When you turn around back toward the petting zoo, head right and you'll find arrows that point to more animals. A fun one to start with is MG, the African lion. Short for Maniac Girl, this lioness appears to be far from that. There's a good chance she'll plop right down across from you (behind her fenced area) and sit there long enough for picture-taking. You can also catch her playing with her toys, like a barrel for example. Oftentimes, lions mind their business and pay no mind to their viewers, so a visit with MG is highly rewarding.
If you're a cat person and loved hanging out with MG, you'll also get to see a Eurasian lynx named Niya. To cool off during hot summer days, the zookeepers feed him frozen meat popsicles. And since he likes to play with a piñata, they fill it with chicken pieces, meatballs and rats. It may not sound appetizing to us, but to Niya these are wholesome treats!
Right next to Niya is Katz, a mountain lion. Like Niya, Katz also likes to play with food piñatas. In addition to meatballs, his piñatas include feathers and hard-boiled eggs.
As you walk further down, you might hear a loud and startling yelp. Don't worry -- these are just peacocks. You'll find that the peacocks walk around freely and explore everything, just like you. For a second, they'll seem like your tour guides since they know the area so well. In this back section of the zoo, you'll see tons of exotic birds including cockatiels, parakeets, a raven, a king vulture as well as a pond filled with koi fish.
If you need to rest, there are plenty of benches and picnic tables scattered throughout the attraction. In addition, the ample shading from the trees makes it bearable, even during the summer months. If you purchase a snack at the zoo, all sales go directly to the care and feeding of the animals.
Other animals at the zoo include wallabies, emus, fossas, chimpanzees and the endangered Barbary apes. Make sure to stop by the gift shop, located in the front where you purchased your ticket. The gift shop includes stuffed animals, animal-printed disposable cameras, purses and toys. On your way out, take a look at the bright pink Chilean flamingos.
The zoo is located in the west side of town, near Texas Station. Fun for all ages, you can spend about one or two hours here.

Adventure Canyon at Buffalo Bill's Review

Think of all the water rides you've been on in the past. They're all pretty much the same. Sometimes you get drenched more than everyone else, while other times you don't get drenched enough. But on Adventure Canyon's log ride, not only will you get soaked, you'll  have a chance to dabble at your shooting skills.
This ride features a 35-foot drop that'll have you screaming like a little kid. And summertime or not, the cooling effect of the water gets you all giddy. What more could you ask for other than a steep plunge and a huge splash? Add electronic gun shooting to the mix and you've got yourself one unique log ride.
You'll be given an electronic gun to shoot at bandits during this interactive adventure. But be careful -- these bad boys may shoot back at you with water! Look out for the entertaining tombstones, "Wanted" posters and everything reminiscent of the Old West.
At the end of your ride, find out who scored the most shots out of your group. Even if you have horrible aim, you have about 300 chances to at least hit a few.
If you'd rather not ride, you can shoot water at your friends from the side for only a quarter. This can be your way of getting back at them if they teased you for staying behind. And just as the saying goes, revenge is best served cold.

Las Vegas, NV. Attractions For Family Fun Yes with the Kids

Attractions for Kids
and
Family Fun

Adventuredome at Circus Circus
2880 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
Las Vegas, NV 89109
(702) 794-3939
(800) 444-2472
Adventuredome
Great for kids and the kids-at-heart, the Adverturedome inside Circus Circus proves you can go crazy in Vegas without the wild nightlife scene.
The five-and-a-half-acre Adventuredome is America's largest indoor theme park and features thrill rides, traditional carnival rides, laser tag, miniature golf, bumper cars, midway booths, an arcade, clown shows and so much more. The natural lighting, high ceilings and canyon fixtures throughout the property gives you the feel of the outdoors, so you don't feel claustrophobic in the least bit.

Adventuredome offers enough thrill rides to keep you busy all afternoon. The Sling Shot shoots up like a rocket launch at a shocking 4 G force, while the Canyon Blaster takes you on a dashing 55-mile-per-hour roller coaster ride complete with a double-loop and double-corkscrew track.
If you're ready to take a "spin" on the fun side, adventure seekers and music lovers alike can enjoy the excitement of Disk 'O, which moves at an astounding 14 rotations per minute on its 100-foot roller coaster track. You'll find yourself spinning and twirling in different directions the entire time.
Can't get enough of the spinning and twirling? The Inverter flips you at a full 360 degrees and leaves you hanging upside down, while Chaos spins you upside-down, backward and counterclockwise.
Once you're ready to cool down from all the rides, the refreshing Rim Runner gives you the splash of your life.

Even if you're not bringing the kids, the 4-D Special FX Theatre features bubbles, water squirts and special effects that will have you giggling in your chair like a 4-year-old.
The Drifter Ferris wheel is a romantic ride if you're bringing a date, but seats up to four people if you're with friends or family. There is a merry-go-round (along with a bunch of kiddie rides) right next to it.
But the Adventuredome isn't just about the rides: The prizes at the midway booths have gone up a notch since we were kids. Sure, you can still win the typical over sized teddy bear or plush banana, but other prizes include Hello Kitty and Angry Bird dolls, as well as other popular icons. Come prepared with plenty of one dollar bills.
One thing you must do before leaving is the Adventuredome's Lazer Tag. Put your "Call of Duty" skills to the test, strap on your vest and let the fun begin. There are plenty of dark corners and hallways to hide in and get your opponents. See your score just outside the exit.
Vendor booths offer personal designed T-shirts, caricature drawings ($5 a person) and all sorts of novelty items. There are also photo booths scattered around the attraction. There's even a trampoline jump for the kids, too.
And of course, the attraction comes complete with all your favorite foods like funnel cake, soft pretzels, nachos and lemonade. The Adventuredome also offers a cocktail stand for adults.
Every Halloween, Adventuredome transforms into Frightdome, a scarefest which lasts through the month of October. Experience a handful of haunted houses and watch out for all the scary ghosts and goblins lurking throughout the area.
You can easily spend the whole day here. Whether you bring the kids or you're going on a date (you can cling on to each other after all the scary rides!), there's really no age limit here. And since  you're indoors, it's guaranteed fun -- rain or shine.

Alkaline Water Can It Help You?

Alkaline water is backed by medical studies Bone Health – Unlike kangen water™, alkaline water has been studied and the results are promising. Some of the most promising research has shown that alkaline water can help maintain bone health. Research on alkaline water for bone health has focused on its ability to provide calcium to the body.
Research has shown that even if you get enough calcium in your diet, your body may not be able to use it. Drinking water has been shown to be the best way to get calcium; in fact calcium and magnesium are 30% easier for the body to absorb from water than from other sources.
Hydration – Recent breakthrough research suggests that the primary channel for water to enter the cells is through small channels called aquaporins. These tiny channels can admit one billion water molecules per second – in single file -to pass into and out of cells! Some of these aquaporin hydration channels are gated – controlled – by pH and by the presence of minerals like calcium.
Stomach Health – A recent study showed that alkaline water has the ability to neutralize stomach acid. The ability of a base such as alkaline water to neutralize acids is called its alkalinity. Alkaline
water has higher alkalinity than ordinary water because it contains hydrate minerals like calcium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide.
As a matter of fact, calcium hydroxide in the form of slaked lime is commonly used to raise the pH of water by public water authorities. It is preferred because it is very effective at neutralizing acidic water.

Can alkaline Water help you?

That depends on a number of factors, and only your doctor knows for sure. If your body is deficient in calcium or magnesium alkaline water may help. Mineral deficiencies are considered to be factors in many health problems. If you are concerned about your body’s mineral nutrition status, your doctor can perform some simple tests that can find out.
LIFE Ionizers recommends you speak with your doctor before making changes to your diet and lifestyle. Your health is precious.

Distribution v. Marketing

What’s the difference between distribution and marketing? Marketers take an idea and spread it far and wide. Distributors build a channel that they control and that is used to connect things to people.

Example:

Joe dons his distributor hat and builds a series of billboards up and down highway 280 from San Jose to San Francisco. He wants to sell a service, namely advertising on the billboards, so he switches his role from distributor to marketer and designs a message to sell his service. He uses his own billboards (distribution channel) to advertise his service by putting up an “advertise here, Call Joe @ 415.555.5555? ad (marketing). The companies that call Joe and eventually rent his billboards to promote their goods and services are all marketers.

It seems like a mundane distinction, but it’s an important one for the independents. The current technological revolution, mixed with ample competition, is forcing people to get out of specialization and take responsibility for their success in many avenues. Here are some examples in classic ‘Willis Quick List” fashion:

So in this day in age, let me tell you what’s become easier than ever: building a distribution channel. Your website is a distribution channel. Your blog, Facebook Group, Youtube Channel, Myspace Page, Email List, Tumbler page, and Twitter account are all small distribution channels. At it’s core, a distribution channel is an communications connection. Now, my point is, the little guy used to have to don a marketer hat and convince one of the bouncers guarding the distribution channel that he should be allowed in. We are now seeing great empowerment for the little guy to learn about these distribution channels and go create them. Would you rather own your distribution channel, a direct line to people you know care about you and what you have to say, or rent another person’s channel?

Seems to me there is a lot of sound up to date logic in this.. Now 2012...Hmmmmmmmmmmm....
